Nasolabial folds, often referred to as the "traces of time," are one of the most common concerns that many individuals wish to address first. However, simply attempting to fill visible wrinkles can often lead to unnatural results that fall short of expectations. To effectively resolve nasolabial folds, one must first understand the structural changes of the entire face rather than focusing solely on the wrinkles themselves.
In many cases, the actual cause of deep nasolabial folds is not just the hollowed area itself, but midface descent—specifically, sagging cheeks. As we age, the soft tissues of the midface sag downward, causing fat layers to accumulate above the nasolabial line, which makes the folds appear deeper and more prominent. In such instances, using only fillers without first addressing the sagging skin can result in a somewhat bulky or bloated facial appearance.
At LV Plastic Surgery, we offer tiered solutions tailored to the depth of the wrinkles and the degree of skin laxity. In the early stages, where wrinkles are shallow and caused by a simple lack of volume, we achieve immediate improvement through precise filler injections. Conversely, when cheek sagging is involved, we recommend combination treatments—such as Shurink laser lifting or thread lifting—to lift the midface and address the root cause.
A precise diagnosis that considers individual facial structures and skin conditions is far more important than simply undergoing any procedure. Rather than focusing on the quantity of filler injected, LV’s philosophy is to enhance your natural beauty by applying the right treatment to the necessary areas. We believe that effortless naturalness is the true value that premium beauty should strive for.
